Ammonia Scavenger - 90 Caps VENDOR PROF HEALTH PRODUCTS

$48.18

Ammonia Scavenger (LIVER/TOX) contains nutrients that assist the body in ridding itself of the toxic metabolite ammonia, such as larch tree fiber, L-Ornithine, and yucca. Typically, bacteria in the gut and cellular metabolism of protein create ammonia, which is normally converted to urea via the urea cycle and is excreted. This process can be impaired for many reasons, allowing ammonia to build up the bloodstream, negatively affecting organs such as the brain and liver. High amounts of this toxin also impair the body’s ability to make BH4, the molecule needed for neurotransmitter production. Symptoms of high ammonia include but are not limited to brain fog, muscle weakness, fatigue, mood issues and irritability. For further liver support, this product pairs well with Eco Liver.

Potential Benefits:

  • Provides a unique blend of ingredients that support the Urea Cycle

  • Help reduce excess ammonia levels in the blood

  • Supports digestion in an effort to create less ammonia

Ammonia Scavenger Created when amino groups are removed from amino acids, high nitrogen levels pose toxic traits; therefore, nitrogen is reduced through ammonia synthesis due to its properties as a cofactor. Production of ammonia, NH3, is also seen through the gluconeogenesic transition of amino acids to glucose and in the GI tract during protein digestion. Ammonia, toxic to the central nervous system, is predominately eliminated through the Urea Cycle.

Researchers believe genetic mutations found in the CBS, BHMT, MTHFR, MTR/MTRR, PEMT/BHMT, SUOX and NOS genes are thought to increase NH3 levels and reduce Urea Cycle function.2 The responsibility to neutralize excessive ammonia, due to an inhibited Urea Cycle, is met by the utilization of BH4. The reduction of available BH4 leads to a potential reduction of neurotransmitters and inflammation from NOS uncoupling, thus impacting an individual physically and emotionally.

Elevated glutamate, an excitatory neurotransmitter produced by alpha-ketoglutarate and NH3, has the potential to act as an excitotoxin that can cause neural damage and cell death. Abnormal ammonia levels can additionally cause, yet is not limited to, tremors, fatigue, enlarged liver, headaches, irritability, seizures and a lack of concentration.11 Ammonia Scavenger provides comprehensive nutritional support to the Urea Cycle, agents to absorb ammonia and the ability to support digestion in effort to create less ammonia.
